Terry
is an English transplant. She is very
proper and sophisticated but also very friendly. She came to California with her family several years ago. Her father was a well educated scientist
who thought he could make his fortune not mining, but processing gold
ore. Terry is now the only teacher in
the area and kids from miles around tend her little, one room school. She has room and board in the Golden
Spur’s upstairs hotel as part of her income agreement with the
town’s folk.
