Sandra Beach
“Sandy” is a charming and vivacious young English
countrywoman. Because of her father's illness, she has managed the extensive
Beach estates rich agricultural land and several buildings situated in
southern England for the past few years. Unfortunately, the estates
were destroyed by fire; shortly thereafter, Sandy's father, Colonel Beach, died. Forced to fend for herself, she came to London where, by virtue of unwavering determination and
the greatest of good fortune (and insurance proceeds), she has made a place
for herself in society. Lady Clair Voyent has
become Sandy's close friend, and the
two young women impetuously set out on a world tour. Upon returning to London, they again immediately departed on a journey to
the South of France. Once there, they joined up with the Duchess at her
vacation villa.
