You may invite as many guests as you like. The Mysteries Galore party games are designed for 10 participants.
If you wish to participate as one of the game characters you will only need 9 other participants.
However, you can always have any extra guest portray investigators.
If you have a lot of guests, you can have 2 people play the same character part
